Energy Efficient Dishwashers

Energy Efficient Dishwashers

How many times do you run your dishwasher each week? Chances are, if you have a family of four or more, the dishwasher runs every day to every other day. Imagine how much energy is being used during the washing process! We have a guaranteed way to reduce your energy usage, while also saving you money and protecting the environment. The answer: Energy efficient dishwashers.

There are two different things that come to mind when making your dishwasher more efficient: water and energy conservation. Is your dishwasher outdated? Those made before 1994 are so inefficient they are likely to cost you an extra $40 each year on utilities. Are you ready to take back control of your home by investing in energy efficient dishwashers? If so, here’s what you need to know.

When purchasing new energy efficient dishwashers it is important that you look for the Energy Star logo. This little sticker indicates that the appliance you are seeking to purchase has been tested and approved as efficient. Not only do these models take into consideration saving energy, but they also require much less water than older models.

Aside from the famous sticker, there are two other things to look for when purchasing energy efficient dishwashers. First, look for a dishwasher with a surplus of washing cycles. If you are good about rinsing your dishes before placing them in the dishwasher, you can get away with using “light” cycles that take less time and save more energy. Second, purchase the model that has the “no-heat dry” option. Essentially, your dishes will be allowed to dry without utilizing unnecessary energy.

Why should you upgrade your dishwasher? Simple – you will not only cut down on your power bills, but you will also be using less energy and thereby doing your part to help save the environment. The more energy you use, the more pollution enters into the environment. Take a stand today to make your home more energy efficient!
